This is an animation I created from a technique I did through a tutorial. I wanted the splatter to look more effective so I made it move away from myself and disappear. This could represent the idea of the missing pieces of myself dispersing and fading away. It could be interpreted in different ways by different people. I would like to do more animations like this, even though it took some time, I like making the effort and seeing good results.

Image within image Gif - Final Print
This is a Gif I have created with my image within image technique. I just changed one part of the photograph to keep the focus on one part. I would like to create more animations like this one because it is quite simple to do with the right amount of time. Animations are an interesting way of showing the photograph's emotional value through movement. This is also one of my chosen final prints for my project.

Paint Splatter Technique
This is a new technique I just learnt from a YouTube tutorial. It is an easy technique to learn and develop. Paul added the wind effect onto the outer splatters to make it look as if the pieces were flying off of me. I used this photograph because it was an easy photograph to manipulate. I tried to splatter both sides of me but I didn't think it looked right so I decided to stick to one side to make it look more effective. I think I might have splatter my face too much, I think it would have looked better if there were less splatters all over my face. Paul had an idea of making this technique into an animation by doing each splatter separately. This could work but it would take a lot of time and effort. If this technique relates to my exam question in anyway, I would like to use it because it's easy and quick enough to do now I know how to do it. I think it shows a sense of surrealism because it could be something in a dream sequence or an unconscious thought which makes it surreal.
This is another photograph I edited with the paint splatter technique. I did not use the wind effect on this photograph because I think it looks better without it in this particular photograph. I only did a part of the model's hand and guitar so I didn't over do it and to make the focus on the neck of the guitar. I did not take the guitar photograph in the studio with the red background but hopefully it looks like it. I used the same tutorial technique which really helped me to understand masks and using different layers to create an illusion such as this. I really like this technique and would like to use it even more in future shoots as a surrealism technique and a experimental technique.

Personal Shoot 8
This is my 8th shoot for this personal project, I used the studio to create the surrealistic illusion I wanted. I didn't think I would like the red background but I would really like to use it again because it means something as well as it looks professional and it makes any colour stand out. I usually wear black or darker colours so if I were to do the self shoots I usually do, I could use this background to make myself more noticeable.
I came up with these ideas a few weeks ago but I didn't have the models to pull of the ideas I had. The face swapping image is an idea I posted but hadn't had the models or the time to do recently. I'm glad I tried, I think it could have been a bit more professional looking but it was only a quick idea and edit that I wanted to try out for myself. If I were to to something with surrealism again, I would like to pursue this idea a bit more and develop it to make it more realistic.
The hole in the stomach idea I had was something I thought of a few days ago, I am going to develop it further in January to make the hand go through the hole in an illusive way. I think it would look more realistic and creative if the hand was going through the hole. I would have liked the hole to have more depth to make it look more realistic.
The third photograph I thought of on the spot and I didn't even know if I could do it. I used the healing tool to make it look as if Jamie's body wasn't even there. I think it looks as if I placed his head on top of her hand but in reality, his head was resting on Natasha's hand there, all I had to do was get rid of Jamie's body. I would like to do something more on this and develop it into a more of my next project if it relates to it.
The last photograph was the montage technique I learnt to do with the layer mask and the gradient tool. I used three different photographs and put them together as if they were different people.

7th Personal Shoot
This is my 7th personal shoot edits. I used a small canvas a prop to base my photoshoot on. I used a technique called 'image within image' which is required of me in my final project. I like this technique because of the surrealistic quality of the idea. I would like to carry on with this kind of technique and make add more to it in my future projects.
I used the small canvas as a base for my ideas. I used the canvas to position my hand and then add other parts into in later on Photoshop. The first photograph shows another photo cut out and put onto the canvas to substitute my face. I chose not to use a nose to make it more surrealistic. I tried to make it as accurate as possible and I added a shadow behind the features to make it look as if they are coming out of the canvas.
The second idea of this shoot shows the dramatic, yet gradual change in emotions. Although it doesn't show surrealism in an obvious way, it shows how quickly someone can change emotionally. Looking from the first photograph to the last one of the set shows the complete contrast between them. In my own opinion, I think this does show surrealism in a real way.
The photograph I have created with the writing on myself is an idea I had when I did it. I wanted to use the gradient tool to make the writing look more gradual and smoother but it wouldn't work as I wanted it to. I think I could improve with this photograph and make it more surrealistic.
The last photograph shows the surrealistic view of my mouth upside down which could represent the way I can't express myself through words because they get turned on their head. I used the small canvas as the base for my hands to go. The desaturation makes the viewer focus on the mouth more and make sit even more surrealistic.

Another idea
This is a surrealism idea I had inspired by last years technique, photojoiner. I had the idea of using frames to make the parts of the photograph stand out. I also faded the original photograph behind the photojoiner to make it more interesting.I really wanted to do a collage of different pictures making up one big picture. Something like these two photographs. I would really like to make it look realistic and artistic like these two photographs. I tried with another photograph I had but it didn't really work as much as I wanted it to.
